Although domestic geese are originated in colder countries they do quite well in the tropics, too. They should always have plenty of fresh water to drink and will not propagate unless provided with a pond for swimming. They pair for life and a gander (male) will not separate from his “wife”, even when she is removed from the flock for rearing her young. These may also be hatched and reared by Muscovy ducks, but will soon outgrow their foster-mother.
